The Coos Singers Community Choir · Coos Bay

About the choir

Every voice, one chorus.

A non-auditioned community choir for Coos Bay, North Bend, and the whole South Coast.

Act one

Born on a college stage.

The Coos Singers took shape at Southwestern Oregon Community College. The first rehearsal met on January 8, 2024 in Sunset Hall, and the choir grew fast: singers of every level and background, more than seventy voices by the spring of 2025.

Season after season the choir filled the Hales Center for the Performing Arts and the Marshfield High School Auditorium, always free, always packed with choruses, solos, small ensembles, and the occasional audience singalong.

Act two

An independent chorus.

In 2026 the choir stepped out of the college and became an independent community organization, keeping its own name, its own domain, and its own mission: a stronger community through live music.

The songbook stays broad, with a well-earned soft spot for the stage. Along the way the choir has shared its concerts with cast members from Little Theatre on the Bay and student soloists from local schools.

The full choir rehearses in a circle around a grand piano, concert plan on the whiteboard.
